![]() ![]() ![]() Famous examples of sans serif fonts are Helvetica, Futura, etc. A sans serif font doesn’t have any serif in its characters. ![]() A serif is a small line or taper regularly added to the end of a character’s stem, like we see in fonts such as Times New Roman, Garamond, etc. This font comes with three different font families: serif, which is the default setting, sans serif, and monospaced. In this article, we will walk through the commands that changes the style of fonts in LaTeX. We can change the look of this font by changing its font family, font weight or font shape. The standard font we are seeing on LaTeX documents is called Computer Modern. ![]()

To understand the concept better, let’s look at an example:Ĭompany A has decided to split its stock and has settled on the most common split ratio: 2-for-1. However, the most common are 2-for-1, 3-for-1, and 3-for-2 splits. There are a variety of combination ratios open to the company. When a company decides to split its stock, it determines the ratio for the split. A stock split is a decision by the company to increase the number of outstanding shares by a specificied multiple. Publicly-traded companies all have a given number of outstanding shares of stock in their company that have been purchased by and issued to investors. ![]() ![]() ![]() *If you are Recording the Meeting please note: Depending on each users' notification preferences, this may send an alert regarding this meeting. Small world in a big city, I must say. I had never been to a stand-up comedy show, and I have to say, I was impressed! Also, it was only $10/person-a steal for the great time we had. One thing that they showed us was the glory of stand-up comedy, where Seth Meyers’ writers hysterically interacted with the audience and improvised with witty and wry humor. One of Kevin’s brothers and his wife live in Brooklyn, so we had an insider’s look into the city. The entire experience was a dream, especially if you’re a foodie like me! We used Foods of New York for an Italian experience in Greenwich Village, and on this tour, we got to eat a slice of Joe’s Pizza, try REAL olive and truffle oil at Oliviers & Co, snack on a rice ball and salami at Faicco’s Italian Specialties, eat a huge meatball at Trattoria Pesce Pasta, meet a Chopped master at Rafele, taste a chocolate chip cookie at Milk & Cookies, sample cheeses at Murray’s Cheese, and finish with a cannoli at Rocco’s Pasticceria. One of my favorite memories was doing a food tour. We got the chance to be on the Brooklyn Bridge, find the Financial District, meander through Midtown, check out Chinatown, take in Times Square, and sit in Central Park all in one day. Even if my feet were hurting, walking was the perfect way to see the city in all its glory. On one day of our trip, we walked from Brooklyn all the way to Central Park, which resulted in us walking over 31,000 steps, or about 13.7 miles. Kevin and I enjoy being active and outside, so one way that we saved a lot of money was by walking as often as we could. Thankfully, however, my husband and I made several decisions that saved our wallet while also allowing us to have the time of our lives in NYC. I was thrilled at the prospect of seeing the city, as the biggest city I had seen prior to New York was…Houston, maybe? This small-town Texas girl was excited at the idea of towering buildings for miles but also nervous about the dent this trip would make on our bank account. When New York made the list of places to visit this year, the first thing I thought was that this trip was going to be expensive. ![]() ![]() How to Permanently Delete Files from the Computer? ![]() Then it stores a new series of 1.s and 0’s over the old one. Thus, instead of the computer going and erasing all the 1’s and 0’s, it waits until there’s something new to store. FAT allocates that space as free space, ready to be written over. When you delete a folder or a file and remove it from the recycle bin, all what you’ve done is instruct the FAT to remove pointers to the data. FAT also protects written data so the computer can’t write over used space. FAT organizes all data bits in an orderly fashion. It’s the FAT that tells your computer system where the file is located on the drive. The saved file is then written on another section called the File Allocation Table (FAT). If the file is too big for one section, the computer may break the file into multiple sections. ![]() In SSD and USB drives, the bytes are stored in a series of individual memory cells rather than long bands.įor speed and efficiency, the computer writes the data in the first available space it can find that’s sizable enough to hold the file. These bits of data are written in long continuous bands and saved around the physical hard drive. Your hard disk writes every byte of information you create as a series of blocks represented by 1’s and 0’s. How Does Data Storage Work In The Computer? To understand how deleting data works, let’s first understand how data storage works in a computer. For Solid-State Drives (SSD), the data is removed permanently when you delete files and folders. However, this only applies to regular Hard Disk Drives (HDD). Until your OS overwrites the hard drive sector, a file recovery program can scan, find, and restore the deleted files. Thus, for fast operations, the OS will only delete the pointer and then later overwrite the deleted data with new information.Īs you continue creating new files and folders, the OS overwrites the sections of the hard drive that have no pointers that indicate the existence of data. The reason the OS only deletes the pointer is because it takes much longer to delete a file than it takes to delete the pointer. So the data still exists in a sector of your hard drive, even though the system shows the data no longer exists. ![]() Whenever you delete any file, what you’ve essentially done is delete the tracker pointing to the file. ![]() ![]() ![]() The main issue was that AdBlock Plus injected its stylesheet (of blocked resources) into every iFrame loaded on a page. ![]() ![]() If you have AdBlock Plus installed in Firefox you may have noticed that it may cause spikes in memory usage under certain conditions.
